Hello.
We are a mother and daughter quilting duo with over two decades of experience designing and making quilts together.
Our deep-rooted love for beautiful fabrics and clever quilt design is the driving force behind everything we do. We want to create quilts that inspire you, introduce you to clever techniques and useful quilting rulers, and, above all, have that all important WOW factor!
We strongly believe that patchwork and quilting should never feel intimidating. Most of our patterns are beginner-friendly, and we put a huge amount of time and effort into making our instructions as clear and easy to follow as possible. We are known for our concise, well-illustrated patterns and we take enormous pride in this. Whenever we use a specialist ruler, we also try to include an alternative template so that you can still make the quilt without the ruler.
And if you ever do get stuck, please do get in touch. We are always happy to help.
Our Books & Patterns.
Writing quilting books has always been in our blood. Pam’s first book, The Quilt Room Workshops, was published in 1992, swiftly followed by The Quilter's Workbook in 1993.
Then, in 2006, something rather special happened. While we were at Quilt Market in Houston, our lovely Moda rep, Susan, gave us a Jelly Roll. It was an inspirational moment for us, leading to an explosion of design ideas, and before long, we had created a collection of quilts using this brilliant 2½” strips.
We exhibited some of our quilts at The Festival of Quilts quilt show, catching the attention of publishers David & Charles. This led to our first book on pre-cuts, Jelly Roll Quilts, which was fast-tracked and published early 2008. To our amazement, it became a global success that exceeded all our expectations.
Since then, we have published a further fifteen books focusing on pre-cuts as well as creating and self-publishing our own pattern books and individual patterns. In 2021, we independently published our book Quilts from Quarters which was later published by Martingale and is now published by David & Charles. In May 2023, our compilation, The Best of Jelly Roll Quilts, hit the shelves.
Our patterns are sold and distributed around the world, particularly in the United States, and over the years we have regularly contributed to quilting publications including Today’s Quilter and American Patchwork and Quilting as well as appearing at craft shows, online events and on television. In 2017, we were also thrilled to be named Designer of the Year.
And we’re certainly not finished yet! There is always another quilt, pattern or book idea taking shape behind the scenes and our next book Layer Cake Quilts will be published by C&T Publishers in October 2026.
About Us.
Pam
Over two decades ago, my husband, Nick, and I embarked on a new adventure, moving to the beautiful Cornish countryside. We found our dream home in a charming old mill beside a river.
Life here is anything but quiet, thanks to our three mischievous dogs, a lively flock of chickens, and a steadily growing family of guinea fowl. From my sewing room, I’m lucky enough to enjoy a view of the river. I really couldn't wish for a more inspiring place to sew!
My home is in West Sussex UK, where I live with my husband, Rob, and our three children Freddie, Jack, and Ava who are all growing up far too quickly. My grown-up stepdaughter, Natalie, lives nearby and is often over for dinners, drinks, and dog walks.
Life is wonderfully busy juggling work and family life. In my spare time, I love going to the gym, meeting friends for coffee, getting lost in my Kindle and going for walks by the sea. I also love a bit of binge-worthy telly and Saturday night movie nights with the kids. Adding to all the chaos is Nelly, our gorgeous cocker spaniel.
